Facebook delegate to visit Pakistan over blasphemous content issue

Today the interior ministry has announced that the social media giant, Facebook would have visited Pakistan for resolving the blasphemous content matter.

Facebook has selected a Focal person to have a roundtable talk and lead the discussion with the PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) about the matter.

Today, in a press conference, the interior minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan stated that the government is taking the strong action against the people who have created this content.

On the other hand, FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) has also approached Interpol and Facebook so that they can track the social media pages and account having blasphemous content violating International laws.

In the last week, the civil society has also filed the petition against the matter and has also demanded the temporary shutdown of the Facebook from the Pakistan until the content is not removed.

On this matter, A high-level committee was lead by the Interior Minister for reviewing the investigation on the matter. According to the committee, 11 people are involved in the sharing of the objectionable content and they have been identified.

Previously, Facebook and YouTube had already been banned from the country for posting or having the intensive and blasphemous contents.
