Google One: Google Drive cloud storage gets a new name, cheaper prices

Google Recently announced that it is revamping its cloud storage plan. Now Google has begun rolling out its updated cloud storage plans, these plans are suitable for 4K and high-resolution photographer.

Google One Cheaper Than Google Drive

Google Drive now will become Google One, and under it, users will be able to get more storage for less money, and 24/7 technical support over the phone, chat, or email. All support will be available to all subscriber.

Every Google Account will get 15GB of free cloud storage, but unpaid subscribers won’t be able to benefit from affordable offers.

You will be able to get 100GB for same old $1.99/month, but now u can get 200GB for only $2.99/month. However, there is no 1TB storage but u can get 2TB storage for $9.99/month.

If we talk about old plans, that is 1TB – $9.99/month, it means that you will be able to get 2TB in the price of 1TB.

Price for the larger plans like 20TB, 30TB will remain constant, Google has made this clear.

15GB – free

100GB – $1.99/month

200GB – $2.99/month

2TB – $9.99/month

10TB – $99.99/month

20TB – $199.99/month

30TB – $299.99/month

The aim is to provide cheaper cloud storage to the customer, not to businesses, the price changes in the lower storage tiers clearly show that.

Aside from cheaper plan, Google One subscribers will be able to get additional benefits, like 24/7 support, Google has clarified that the support will be available in eligible regions, initially, the USA is in the eligible region, and the UK is likely to be added later. Other benefits include Google Play Credits, deals on select hotels found in Google Search.

Google says, though in what ways, remains to be seen.

Paid Google Drive subscriber will be upgraded automatically to Google One over the coming months, US paid subscriber will be the first one to get Google One up-gradation. Before upgrade users will get confirmation email where they will be able to manage their plan and benefits.
